B G Y M A R K E T I N F O Beyond the Golden Years ("BGY") is licensed per Designated Market Area ("DMA"). Counties are assigned to markets on the basis of which market’s TV stations, in aggregate, receive the most viewing in that county. The DMA status is granted where the home county station(s) achieve the largest audience share, or when the commercial station within the metro/central area or home county with the greatest audience share attains a larger share than the station outside the market with the highest share. By clicking on each state in the map, you will find the DMA’s in that state and the number of nursing homes. The license fees & the media cost will be determined by the size of each DMA, since that determines the viewership.
