A B O U T B G Y Austin-based First Madison Communications (FMC) has successfully launched "Beyond The Golden Years," an infomercial on nursing home neglect and abuse. "Beyond The Golden Years" written, produced, and directed by Jim Warren, deals with the important and timely issue of nursing home neglect and how those with loved ones in nursing homes can spot the warning signs of neglect and take the appropriate actions. The program features a roundtable discussion of experts that include a nurse, physician and nursing home administrator; testimonials of individuals whose family members were abused in nursing home; actors portraying a family with someone in a nursing home; and attorney's who specialize in nursing home abuse cases. "Beyond The Golden Years combines all the important elements to fight nursing home abuse," said Jim Warren, executive producer and vice-president of FMC. "By using the different elements of testimonials, experts, actors, and attorney's to take action, we were able to produce a program that addresses the nursing home issue from all angles." The show is being marketed to attorneys throughout the country who specialize in nursing home abuse and neglect cases. These attorney's are included in an internal "call to action" in the program, urging those who believe a family member in a nursing home is in crisis, to contact them to report the abuses. The attorney may then take action against the nursing home on behalf of the family. The attorney segments are shot separately, inserted into the show, and shown in the individual attorney's television area. " A large number of attorney's have already signed on," explains Warren.
